This Breath 03:28
I want everything I want it all I want it to figure out how to get before I fall It's a slippery slope I'm holding on by a thread If I don't make it happen I know I'll surely be dead Maybe this is enough maybe I've got it all wrong Maybe the pit of disappointment keeps me moving along I'll work harder this year than I did with the last Find the worth in every moment uncompared to the past When I find myself alone caught up in the fray I remind myself there only is today All the others have passed me by Only in pictures they will lie The freedom of this breath is where I try The freedom of this breath is where I try I'll drop a few pounds live leaner each day Let my heart grow fat with the love that I've shared on the way I'm going to eat better food drink only water tonight Prove to myself I can live up to these words that I write Move my body around build strength in my bones Less abuse of this vessel this sinking ship that I own Push comfort aside curve learning and grow This laziness burns me with lessons that I already know When I find myself alone caught up in the fray I remind myself there only is today All the others have passed me by Only in pictures they will lie The freedom of this breath is where I try The freedom of this breath is where I try The freedom of this breath is where I try.. My blue grey eyes and what they see Will shed some light on you and me Opening up to a falling time Feeling the beat of a lover's rhyme Scared to the bone that I'm feeling fine Open open my life My blue grey eyes and what they know Leave only plains on this plateau Opening up to a learning time Feeling the beat of a poet's rhyme Scared to the bone that I'm feeling fine Open open my life Open My blue grey eyes and what they seek A better life for you and for me Opening up to a growing time Feeling the beat of an adult's rhyme I'm scared to the bone that I will be fine Open open my life Music & Lyrics Written by Brent Tyler © September 2014

Keep your eyes on the road Place your hand on my leg I am getting cold Steal a kiss upon my neck Growing heat in the heart as we fill our heads With the sound of a thousand voices Is it right or is it wrong? Feel the phrase skip a beat in the Ho Hey song Settle in for the night turn the flashlight on As the over warms with love Hey Ho Hey Fill me up I'll pay inside Drive the car to the hotel and give me time To decide if this feels good Feel the coffee rushing through my blood With anticipation of all we could Lose a little sleep tonight As the summer exhales to breathe in new light Fall into your own decided wrong and right As the oven warms with love Hey Ho Hey Growing heat in the heart as we fill our heads With the sound of a thousand voices As the oven warms with love Music & Lyrics Written by Brent Tyler © September 2014

The Sun 03:34
The sun will shine When both of us die But will you see all the beauty in this life The call for love might feel inconvenient to your troubled mind Tripping up your best intentions to reserve yourself until you find The perfect match to your attachment dating back to when your heart was blind Everyone deserves to feel a little sunshine Everyone deserves a little sunshine We're caught up in our bold predictions And stressing aout about what we're missing now I'm so tired from the bag of bricks I wish I could put it down Oh but then out comes the summer sun And the beginning of your skin is turning brown And I feel in heat The call for love might feel inconvenient to your troubled mind Tripping up your best intentions to reserve yourself until you find The perfect match to your attachment dating back to when your heart was blind Everyone deserves to feel a little sunshine Everyone deserves a little sunshine Oh the sun will shine When both of us die But will you see all the beauty in this life Music & Lyrics Written by Brent Tyler © May 2014

about

After spending the first 6 months of 2014 in a recording studio working on his latest full band studio album, Brent Tyler took a few days to step inside Sympul Studios in Calgary with Derek Pulliam and record a few songs acoustically. The main guitar and vocal take is live off the floor with harmonies and a suitcase brush track added as overdubs.

This release is focused on some unreleased folkier tunes that suit the solo acoustic vibe. A collection of songs written over the last 9 months that have sat in the BT vault with no love, this was a perfect opportunity to release an EP for the summer to satisfy the fans that like their BT solo acoustic;)

Hard copies of this CD will be made available asap, but for now, pick up This Breath via digital download for $5-$1,000,000. Pay what you can:)

Big Acoustic Love.

This is the best description of Brent Tyler’s music and live performance. An aggressive acoustic style combined with lungs befit of his seven foot stature. Brent Tyler balances the soft subtlety of honest and introspective folk music with catchy and powerful pop hooks and melodies born of his childhood influences and contemporary crushes. ... more
